Okay, Stagg. I am your friend, and I am here to tell you that you must face the fact that you need help with your incipient effects pedal obsession. I will arrange an intervention if I must. I mean it. I lost one friend to this very thing, and I am not going to lose another.
This is a very slippery slope that you have stepped on. There will be no end to it, you know. It is chronic, progressive, and, if you refuse to manage it, fatal.
Now, at this point you still look physically healthy and apparently still have some of your wits about you. There is time yet to take action and prevent permanent damage. On the other hand, young man, if you persist in this you will eventually find yourself all alone, toothless, emaciated, and up to your ass in effects pedals.
Realist that I am, I must add that you will undoubtedly someday find yourself all alone, toothless, and emaciated anyway. But at least you will not be up to your ass in effects pedals.
I know.....I can't help it....it's fun....but I'll NEVER O.D. on pedals because I grew up on some indie rock from college radio stations...and it gets to a point where you might as well be playing keyboads of the synth variety 'cause it'll never sound like a stringed instrument.

With the onset of fusion, he started to see his young competition carrying in boards with 24 pedals bolted to them. He claims that is when he decided to turn to composing. Carrying a guitar and an amp was enough for him.
Did I ever tell you about my old garage band, The Butchers, and the huge bass player who threatened to shove my Cry Baby wah-wah pedal up my ass?
Damnnn ... didn't know you had a wooly mammoth - niiiiice! Chained w/ that Envelope filter has to give you some wierd-ass rumble - very cool!
A slippery slope indeed ... but used in the right way a certain amount of effects can create wonderful sounds.
Personally ... I find the most useful pedals are an overdrive pedal, a fuzz or distortion pedal, a nice reverb (slap-back echo) pedal, and a tuner pedal.
I have buckets-o-faith that you won't become "that guy". Ya know the band guy who can't play at all unless he has his precious pedal board working.
